Plans change……..๐Ÿ˜ณ

I planned on quilting customer quilts today but the old machine was acting up. It’s the machine with the IQ (computer) on it. I use it for pantographs. Anyway, I didn’t trust it enough to load someone else’s quilt on it  so I loaded my Kansas row by row and started quilting it. After lots of adjusting here and there, I finally got it back up to par and working like it should. Whew!  So, although I didn’t plan on quilting mine today, it’s done!

I figured since it was a Kansas quilt I should quilt sunflowers on it, since that’s our state flower.  I love the way the quilted sunflowers matched up with the row of appliqued sunflowers.

I made a scrappy back for it too, so I used up more fabric from my stash! Yea!

Even though things didn’t go as planned today, it worked out because I needed to have my quilt quilted before my guild meeting next week. I sure hope tomorrow’s plan works out! ๐Ÿ˜€  but if not…..I’ll make the best of it.

Design wall 1/4/16 new year, new projects

My Kansas row by row quilt top is still on the wall. I pieced a scrappy back together for it, so it’s ready for quilting. I have a few customer quilts to get done before I can put it on the machine.

I cut out a new quilt last week and I’m anxious to get started on it.

Today I started cutting out my mystery lock in quilt. I decided to keep the green in there, since I know what the pattern looks like, I think it will be fine.

That’s it for now. Check out other walls at http://www.patchworktimes.com

Design wall 12/7/15 string quilt top finished

The top is finally done! Yea!! I just put a thin grey border and then a small black outer border to finish off the top. I do like it much better, now that it’s done and I can see the whole thing laid out.

Now I have to get back to my Kansas row by row quilt………we’re supposed to bring them to our January guild meeting……….I still fon’t have a clue as to what to do with the rows.? Oh well, ย it’s back on the design wall and maybe something will come to me this time.

That’s it for me this week. To see more walls check out http://www.patchworktimes.com

Design wall 11/23/15 progress on the string blocks

I made some progress on the strings blocks this week. All the rows are made, now I have to piece the sashing strips to go in between the rows. I have the first one done and sewn onto the bottom of row 1.

I’ll be glad when this is done. It does brighten up the wall though.๐Ÿ˜€

Anyway, that’s my wall for this week, to see more walls go to http://www.patchworktimes.com

Quilts for Christmas

My last minute sewing and quilting was worth it when the kids opened their packages. Tim liked his Rock & Roll quilt and noticed the quilting pattern immediately. I saw him point it out to Sarah. I quilted his with a musical note pattern.

I think his girlfriend Sarah was the most surprised by getting a quilt. She liked hers too!

Sarah likes to do crafts, so she made us a Christmas card! I loved it!!

Kansas row by row

Had a fun time at my guild meeting last night. Our Kansas row by row exchange was due. We only had 2 groups participate in the exchange and group 1 didn’t show up with their rows so only group 2 got to exchange. I’m glad I was in group 2. Anyway, I went easy and made this row.

These are the rows I exchanged for.

I love the rows everyone made!!
Now I’ll have to decide how I want to put them together.

I also got a little surprise gift from my friend Joelyn. She does beautiful embroidery work and she made me a little rug mug. (Although no mug will ever be placed on this!!)

Isn’t it beautiful? I LOVE it and she was so kind to make it for me. Thank you again Joelyn!!

Well, that’s it for now. Have a great day!

Design wall 6/9/14 Row-by-row

I didn’t have a lot of sewing time last week, so my rows didn’t get finished on the scrappy blue quilt. I had to take it down off the fall and finish my Summer Row by row quilt top.they are due at guild this week, so I finally got the top put together.

20140609-131950.jpg
The top row had a lot of white background, so I planned from the start to add something there.
I put a partial umbrella. What do you think?

20140609-132143.jpg
I appliquรฉd it on over everything, then did some fancy machine stitches to make it look like an umbrella.

20140609-132311.jpg
I didn’t want to put a lot into it, just wanted it done!! Now I can get back to my scrappy blue rows! ๐Ÿ™‚

Design wall Monday 2/11/13

I was going through some of my old stuff last night and came across this one. Look at the date! LOL!!

20130211-104141.jpg

I made the January blocks…. All 4 of them! ๐Ÿ™‚ I printed off each months pattern but never made any more blocks.

20130211-104504.jpg

I have enough of the fabric to make 8 more blocks, so I think I’ll just make 12 blocks, add a dark sashing and border, then call it done.

20130211-104841.jpg

It won’t be as pretty as the BOM, but after 14 years in a box……..done is better!! LOL!!!

That’s what’s on my wall today. To see more design walls check out http://www.patchworktimes.com

Basket quilt

Ok now, everyone sing!

A tisket a tasket, a green and yellow basket. LOL!!!

I’ve been working on this basket quilt today and that crazy song has been stuck in my head!

Of course after quilting several rows, I changed the words to…..

A tisket a tasket, I’m tired of seeing BASKETS!! LOL!!!!

It’s good to see the end is in sight! ๐Ÿ™‚
