Design wall Monday 8/26
I spent most of the weekend quilting. I quilted 2 small quilts with pantograph designs. I used a holly design on the Christmas one.
This one got a butterfly design.
This one was a fun quilt! Turtles!! I think it’s cute. The girl that made this is 9. She did a great job on it!
I even got a few more flip flops made. 27 down and 3 more to go!!! My design wall is covered with these….

Pantograph or edge to edge designs
I often wonder when choosing an all over design just what will look the best on the quilt. Today I had a quilt that had long white background strips with turquoise strips in between. The long strips of color are actually rectangles, in a variety of shades, as we’ll as the whites. I decided to go with a circle pattern in the quilting. I love the way it looks!
I quilted it with pale aqua thread color.
I can’t show much of the custom one I’m working on. Just a peek…..

Design wall Monday 8/19
Here it is Monday again! I have 2 projects going on, on my wall right now. I got a few more flip flops made. I now have 18 pairs. I decided that if I use 5 pairs in each row instead of 6, I will only need to make 30 pairs instead of 36, so that’s what I’m going to do. That means 12 more sets to make before they get appliquéd down. Hope I make the deadline!! LOL!!
I worked on the pieced sashings that will go on the English Paper Piecing project that I’m working on. I have all the components made just need to appliqué them into the background squares.

Storm at sea quilts
I finished the 2nd Storm at sea quilt that I needed to quilt. We were all together at Houston when we bought the kits for these quilts. Pam and Doris bought the same size kit so I have them hanging side by side over the machine to show how each one was quilted. Doris told me how she wanted hers done but Pam said do whatever on hers. She got circles with seahorses in the center. Hope she likes it!
Maybe if I had bought the bigger size kit, mine would be done too! But oh-NO, I bought the miniature. It’s been rolled up for months. I do at least have part of it sewn……
I didn’t realize just how small it is until I laid it beside Pam’s!! Wow.
Speaking of Pam, I have another of her quilts done for her. It has lots of feathers.

Assembly time
I’ve been working to get the blocks done this week. Finally finished them today and sewed the sashings together this evening. Boy they went together quick! I did the cornerstones yesterday. So now everything is ready to start sewing the rows!! Yea! I’m determined to get this top finished, quilted and done!!

The quilting
I finished the quilting on the guild opportunity quilt, I haven’t taken time to show how it looks with the quilting. I did lots of feathers on it. I knew I wanted feathers in the purple points around the center block.
After doing all the purple pointed areas, I put in a background fill of just random stuff. I did the outside border next because I knew I was going to run a continuous feather all the way around the quilt.
That left only the side setting triangles left I quilted and I wasn’t sure what to put in those areas. Finally I decided that since I love quilting feathers……..yep, I put feathers in them! LOL!!
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed seeing the pics. Ticket sales were great at our quilt show last weekend. The drawing is in November. I hope I win!! LOL!!!!!

Design wall Monday 3/11/13
My guild opportunity quilt is coming along. My friend Barb said she’ll put the borders on as soon as I get to that step. Hopefully this week I can get all the blocks completed and pass it on to her for the borders. 🙂

Lock in mystery quilt 2013
What a great time we had at our annual mystery lock in. Everyone seemed to like this years pattern. We named it Hawaiin Dreams. Here’s mine done with a dark background.
This is Sharon’s, done with the light background.
Susan got a lot done on hers.
Show and tell was good. Lots of ladies brought in last years mystery, Summer Breeze. I took pictures as they walked around the room.

Mystery lock in 2013
Our mystery lock in is in full swing today. 54 ladies busy sewing, eating, talking and having fun!!
A few ladies have a block done and hung them on the wall.
It’s always fun to see all the different colors they choose!
