Another week has flown by and spring is getting closer! I had a super busy week getting ready for our annual mystery lockin on Saturday. We had 80 ladies there, sewing away all day. It’s always fun to see the variety of colors that are chosen for their mystery quilts. Here is a pic with a few of the ladies with their blocks that went up on the wall.

We had lots of show tell of last years quilt. It’s Double D’Lite. Here’s a few pics of some of them.





And finally, I played around with the HST’s I was sewing last week and have them on the deign wall. The rows are sewn and I’m working on getting the rest of the sashings pieced together. 



It has gone together fast. I strip pieced some 2 1/2″ strips together, then cut them into squares and made HST’s.  I’m using up more of my stash! Yea!!!!

I’m almost finished with my latest quilt top. It’s gone together quite quickly actually. I’m trying to use up scraps, and sewing  strings together is like a thoughtless process. I wanted something different so I came up with this. 



All I have left to do is to add the black border. Woohoo! Then I can move on to the next quilt top. Actually, I’ve already started it. No, that’s not true……I’ve started 2 more quilts! LOL!

This one is going to be strings sewn diagonally.



I don’t want the bulk of using muslin for a foundation, nor do I want to take and pull paper after I sew them, so I am using dryer sheets as my foundation. They are thin and are working great!

The other one, is just some strips I sewed together and now I’m making big HST blocks. Pretty simple, just using up fabric.

I can’t share the quilt that’s on the wall yet. It’s my mystery lock in quilt and all I have left is to add the borders. Yea!!!!
I’ll share a couple finishes from this last week. I finished hand sewing the binding down on my circle quilt. We have the pattern in our Etsy and Craftsy stores, if you’re interested in it.

I also finished another state bird block. Georgia is complete! It took me 4 weeks to do it. That makes 2 blocks that I’ve completed so far this year!! I’m doing a happy dance and hoping I can stay on track with these. I marked Hawaii this morning, so it’s ready to start embroidering.

Well another Monday has rolled around, last week was a beautiful warm week here in Kansas and today we have snow and cold, blah. I did get the fabric that was on my design wall last week sewn together and I quilted it yesterday, put the binding on while it was still on the long arm,I still have to sew it down but it’s at least attached to the quilt.
This was a really fast quilt to put together and I used all the fabric out of my stash. Yay!

I found a little time to sit down and embroider on my state bird blocks. Here’s the updated progress on it.

It definitely looks better since you can see the bird now! LOL!

I’m making progress on our mystery quilt for this year. Our annual lock-in is scheduled for March 7. We are having to close registrationfor the lock-in this year because we have filled it up. We’ve never had to turn anyone down but this year we’re having to close registration early. Wow! We are looking forward to it we just have to get our quilts done so will have them to show when we teach everyone else.
Mine so far! LOL!!

2 weeks and 1 day! That is a record for me, as far as getting a block done!! Woohoo!!
I think using the pearl cotton and marking with the friction pen has made a huge difference. I can’t believe I did this block in such a short amountof time. I marked the Georgia block tonight so hopefully I can get it done in a few weeks (like I did Florida)instead of months. It probably won’t happen though since the mystery lock in is coming up the first weekend of March.

For now I’m just happy to get another block done!!!!’
