My design wall this week still has the string blocks on it. They are now sewn into rows and I have the sashings sewn. Hopefully I can find time soon to get the rows and sashings sewn together and then make the pieced border.

I’ve made some progress on the blocks this week. They’re all made and ready for sashing strips to be cut.
The blocks went together much faster than I thought they would. Hopefully adding the sashings will go quickly too. I originally planned on adding a pieced border, but that could change. We’ll see………..
I can’t believe I have neglected my blog for so long. The last post was about the killdeer eggs back in July! I can happily say that the day we left for our vacation, I got to see 2 little bitty killdeer running across the driveway as we drove down it. I’ve decided that there were more eggs around because I now see 12 -15 killdeer when I drive up the driveway and prior to the eggs hatching I’d see 2 or 3 of them.
Anyway, back to quilts, I finally have something back on my design wall to show. I spent a couple evenings sewing the strings together and today I cut a few up just so I could see how they’re going to look.
Different, but I’m liking them! Hopefully I can find time this week to get the blocks sewn together.
