Purple scrap quilt

In my quest of trying to use up my stash, I am making progress! I cut up 14 purple fat quarters for this one.
I got the borders put on it today, now it’s ready to quilt.

This is the second quilt that I’ve made from my stash by using this block. It’s a fast block to make so I thought about how to do another quilt using this same block.
I decided to use my blue fabrics. I cut what fat quarters I had and then cut up different scraps of blues. I needed to have 200 pieces cut. I cut them in sets of 50’s and I’m now ready to sew.

In looking for blue fabrics to use, I came across some boxes of fabrics that I didn’t even know I had. Good grief! This is actually ridiculous. It’s no wonder I was running out of room!!
Ok, well, that’s it for now. I’ll keep you posted on my progress. I am determined to use my stash!!

Nancie, I cut them 2 1/2″. I sewed 4 strips together and then cut the strip units into 8 1/2″ squares. I sewed 4 squares together, alternating the direction of the strips, then added a 1″ strip around the blocks. The blocks ended up being 18 1/2″ unfinished. On the purple quilt, I cut the sashings at 4 1/2″ and the outside border 6 1/2″.

  2. Sometimes things just work out. I looked up purple quilts and the first hit was this one. I am not doing any more looking! I love this one, it will use up lots of scraps and be quick as it is a chemo quilt for a friend. Thanks for including the size in the comments. Off to start ironing and cutting! Bernie

I love this parttern. It’s just what I’ve been looking for! What do you mean by 200 pieces? What size (2 1/2″ x ?). Would 1 or 2 jelly rolls work for this pattern? I’m newish to quilting so have lots of questions.

Thanks for this pattern. Your quilt is beautiful.
